1.     Applications and feature

The type ST14 gas mask is a novel design gas mask, whose canister is connected directly to the face piece. When the air is a contaminated NBC agent, the gas mask provides effective protection to the wearer’s respiratory organs, eyes and facial skin. The gas mask is designed for the military, police and civil defense and can also be used in industry, agriculture, storehouses, scientific research work, etc.

The flexibility of the face piece is suitable. The straps of elastic webbing have good elasticity and can be adjusted at random to ensure a comfort, gas-tight fit. The large triangular lenses are manufactured from optical plastic and surface-treated specially. The single-piece lens provides a wider visual field and more excellent optical properties and good abrasion and shock resistance.

The canister is filled with good quality impregnated activated carbon and smoke filter made of high efficiency filter paper, and can remove toxic gas and particulate aerosol from the incoming air except carbon monoxide. The canister has a low resistance and lightweight.

3      Use and maintenance

3.1   The type ST14 gas mask is available in universal size.

3.2   The whole mask, particularly the lenses and the exhalation valve, should be kept clean. If necessary, the face piece may be washed with clean water.

3.3   The canister can lower its efficiency after it has absorbed moisture. Therefore, the ingress of moisture into the canister is not allowed. The closure cap and the rubber plug should usually be attached to the canister.

3.4   The gas mask should be stored in cool dry place. If the mask is not use for longer time, support should be placed in the face blank to prevent the deformation. Do not put the mask in touch with organic solvent.

4 USE METHOD OF TYPE ST14 GAS MASK

4.1 Wearing

   Wear the selected gas mask on abovementioned and connect a canister directly to the canister holder. Secure straps, taking account of both air tightness and comfort, and keeping the opening of inner mask unblocked. If the gas mask needs prolonged wearing, especially in hot weather, and when there is sweat water accumulated the chin position, it must be removed through exhalation valve by deeply bending and vigorously breathing out.

4.2 Undoing

Hold the voice meter and raise it up-and-forwards with your right hand, so undo the gas mask.
